The 2015 Best of the Springs – a time-honored tradition (and by that I mean since it’s inauguration in 1994). According to this year and previous issues, it is a celebration of all things beautiful, because we live in a beautiful place. I think it is also a collaboration of staff and citizens in picking those places that make us live, laugh, and love – from the fabulous to the outstanding; from local artists worth celebrating to video stores worth patronizing, al fresco dining to yoga, the newspaper ambitiously tries to cover everything the city has to offer – and then some!
For those of you who haven’t even browsed the categories available to vote on, they really do span the gap of every conceivable notion. Since 1994, the Colorado Springs Gazette has been embracing, encouraging, and supporting small and local businesses that are by ‘Springsians’ and for ‘Springsians’ (there are additional nicknames for our city, but are they really worth repeating? They aren’t particularly … kind, for the most part…). Not only that, but it is our opportunity as consumers, customers, and freedom-loving Americans to express our opinions on what is the best everything, of everything, ever.
That brings us to today’s blog purpose – a reminder: all votes for Best of the Springs 2015 have to be submitted to the Gazette by February 15th!!! That means there are only 4 days left to vote for your favorite:
- Acupuncturist
- Wedding Venue
- Bartender
- Thrift Store
- Yoga Teacher
